Hera Technologies is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Laser Operator to join our manufacturing team in a hands-on, collaborative environment. This role is responsible for setting up and operating CNC laser cutting equipment to produce precision parts in accordance with engineering specifications and quality standards. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong technical aptitude, a commitment to safety, and a high level of accountability for their work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC laser cutting machines using work orders, blueprints, and technical specifications
  • Interpret and execute job instructions including CNC programs, setup sheets, tool lists, job routings, and part drawings
  • Load and configure CNC programs, including establishing zero/reference points and machine offsets
  • Adjust machine settings such as laser power, speed, and focus to ensure optimal cutting performance
  • Perform first article and in-process inspections using precision measuring tools to ensure conformance to specifications
  • Troubleshoot issues, modify programs, and make real-time adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency
  • Optimize nesting layouts and cutting strategies to maximize material yield and minimize waste
  • Maintain accurate production and quality records
  • Perform routine equipment checks and basic maintenance
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and strictly adhere to all safety protocols

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 5 years of CNC laser cutting experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and technical documents
  • Experience working with CNC controls and modifying programs as needed
  • Proficiency in shop math and measurement techniques
  • Skilled in the use of precision measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers)
  • Knowledge of cutting tools, materials, and machining processes
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and accountability

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in aerospace, defense, or other high-precision manufacturing environments
  • Familiarity with nesting software and material optimization techniques
  • Experience with ERP systems such as JobBOSS or Epicor
  • Ability to read and interpret GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
  • Prior experience with laser systems such as Trumpf, Bystronic, or similar
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
