Role Overview: The Bench technician role will play a key role in delivering precision-manufactured components that meet the rigorous demands of aerospace and defense applications. This position works closely with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure excellence
Key Responsibilities
- Deburr and hand-finish parts in accordance with customer specifications using established procedures, machines, and tooling.
- Verify parts meet blueprint requirements and ensure they remain free from damage throughout processing.
- Actively participate in the planning and execution of continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support and perform cross-functional operations as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Experience deburring and hand-finishing precision parts to customer specifications using appropriate procedures, machines, and tooling.
- Ability to perform work, rework, and inspections while accurately maintaining
- documentation and required job data.
- Proficiency in coordinating daily production activities, including scheduling, planning, execution, and participation in status updates with leadership.
- Working knowledge of ERP systems and ability to support cross-functional shop floor operations as needed.
- Commitment to workplace organization (5S), cleanliness standards, continuous improvement initiatives, and adherence to health, safety, and environmental guidelines.
Preferred Qualifications
- At least one year of experience deburring metal components in an aerospace manufacturing job-shop environment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and work instructions, with safe use of standard machine shop tools.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and basic shop math skills, with the ability to prioritize and adapt to changing project needs.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal), along with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and willingness to learn and support cross-functional operations.
Additional Requirements
- Willingness to work long hours and weekends when needed to meet critical deadlines
- Willingness to travel to customers’ locations or other Hera sites as needed
- Ability to use a computer and most common software programs to complete assignments
- Ability to communicate with individuals and groups in person, by phone and online
- Ability to regularly lift up to 40 lbs and occasionally up to 50 lbs and remain on feet for extended periods while performing repetitive tasks.
- Adherence to strict safety protocols, including use of safety glasses, hearing protection, and hard-toe footwear.
- Commitment to a professional, respectful, and collaborative work environment where accountability and teamwork are expected.
- Comfortable working in an open, inclusive culture that encourages communication, support, and shared problem-solving.
- Functional computer skills with strong attention to detail, accuracy, and personal responsibility for high-quality work.

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
